Kylian Mbappe cuts holidays short to return to Paris Saint-Germain training early

Just three days after scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final, Kylian Mbappe has returned to Paris Saint-Germain training.

The France star was kept Les Bleus in the game against Argentina, scoring twice from the penalty spot and a searing volley to take the match to penalties after falling behind twice.

After returning to Paris with the rest of the squad, where they were greeted by thousands at Place de la Concorde to welcome them home, Mbappe has decided to forego his holidays.

Mbappe was not due back until the following week, as PSG prepare for the return of Ligue 1 against Strasbourg next weekend. Keen to put the World Cup disappointment behind him, Mbappe perhaps wanted to distract himself with work. Initially at least, he will be doing solely gym and recovery work after an intense month in Qatar.

Highly-motivated, Mbappe has always risen past disappointments previously and it appears he is laser-focused on doing so again. This season will be unique in that players will be asked to respond immediately after the tournament rather than off the back of a lengthy break.
