Barcelona set to miss out on midfield duo

Barcelona‘s financial issues are well known, and their situation will certainly place limits on their transfer activity.

The club are in the process of improving their finances, which will involve selling first team players, but they are keen to strengthen despite the restrictions.

Specifically, head coach Xavi wants to add reinforcements in midfield, where a number of targets have been identified by club officials. Specifically, Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad are two names that have been floated around.

However, the club are set to miss out on making moves for both, according to MD. Pep Guardiola’s side do not want to sell Bernardo for cheap, and it would take a hefty fee for the club to part with the Portuguese.

La Real, they are also reluctant to sell Zubimendi, and will hold out for his release clause of €60m. The prices for both are far too much for Barca in their current predicament, which means that the Blaugrana will switch their focus to other targets.
