Martin Braithwaite reluctant to leave Barcelona despite Xavi Hernandez’s lack of faith in him

Martin Braithwaite is determined to stay at Barcelona despite the fact Xavi Hernandez doesn’t have a place for him in his squad according to Diario Sport. The Danish international believes playing for Barcelona is the great opportunity of his sporting life.

Braithwaite’s entourage aren’t exactly actively looking for a new home for the striker but Barcelona have been casting around. And there are several clubs in both La Liga and abroad who’d sign him on a permanent deal – Barcelona want in the region of €8m.

The only way that Braithwaite would agree to leaving Camp Nou would be if a club he found attractive emerged as a viable option. Given how low his salary is, that may be possible as it wouldn’t be a burden for any potential suitor to assume. Braithwaite joined Barcelona from Leganes in 2020 and has played 57 games for the club, registering ten goals and five assists.
