Barcelona come into their tie in good spirits following their comeback win over Levante at the weekend and they will be seeking to continue that momentum by reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night.
Standing in their way are Eintracht Frankfurt, who troubled the Catalans as much as any side has in the last few months in the first leg. Barcelona came away with a 1-1 draw after Ferran Torres levelled up – Ansgar Knauff had given the Germans the lead.
Although the priority will be getting through the tie first and foremost, several key players are at risk of suspension should they pick up another yellow card against Eintracht.
Amongst those in danger are Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Eric Garcia and Gavi – arguably 3 or 4 of Xavi Hernandez’s starting line-up. Even so, Pique may not make the match as he is still recovering from an injury.
As Mundo Deportivo note, should they make it through to the semi-finals, the yellow card count will be wiped clean.
