Real Madrid starlet Sergio Arribas shining under Raul Gonzalez

As rumours and hype grow around Real Madrid Castilla manager Raul Gonzalez, one of his stars is catching the eye in Spain’s third division.

Carlo Ancelotti has trusted a select group of 16 players this season at Real Madrid and none of them are youth products. In fact, left-back Miguel Gutierrez has arguably taken a step backwards in the pecking order. Many had expected him to squeeze out Marcelo as Ferland Mendy’s back-up this season.

The next talent of the production line at La Fabrica, Sergio Arribas, has been demonstrating that he is simply too good for the level he is playing at according to Diario AS.

Arribas plays as an attacking midfielder but has notched 12 goals and 4 assists so far this season, excelling under Raul. In Group 2 of the Primera RFEF, he is the top scorer, while he leads the whole of the Primera RFEF for progressive carries.

At the age of 20, Arribas will be wanting to make the step up to top level football sooner rather than later. With Ancelotti apparently not sufficiently impressed, it may be that a loan or transfer with a buyback clause are his best options to do so in the summer.
