Leeds United want Barcelona to pay a Ferran Torres-sized transfer fee for Raphinha

Barcelona are keen to sign Raphinha from Leeds United.

There’s no problem from the player’s side – he wants to come and the fact that Deco is his agent has helped matters along nicely.

But Mundo Deportivo report that Leeds could pose a problem.

Raphinha is contracted to the Premier League club until 2024 and Leeds want a fee similar to the one that Barcelona paid Manchester City to sign Ferran Torres last January.

Barcelona paid €55m plus €10m in variables for Ferran and Leeds value Raphinha, a 25-year-old Brazilian international, similarly.

Leeds will lose all bargaining power if they’re relegated, however, and that’s a real possibility given how dire their season has been.

If they beat the drop, however, Leeds could leverage reported interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain to get as much money as possible out of Barcelona for their player.

Barcelona want to sign Raphinha to replace Ousmane Dembele, who’s contract with the club expires at the end of this season.
