Eden Hazard expected to be out of action for between four to six weeks for Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has suffered another injury setback.

The Belgian playmaker is going to have to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will miss between four and six weeks.

That’s according to Cope, who note that Hazard would therefore return for Real Madrid just before the end of La Liga.

The forward, who joined Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2019 but has enjoyed little success at the Santiago Bernabeu, wants to be in top shape in time for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Whether he’s going to be going to that as a Madrid player isn’t clear; his future is very much up in the air this summer amidst what’s expected to be a close-season of great change.

Madrid intend to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer transfer market, something that would push Hazard even further down the pecking order.

Not that he’s featured much this season.

Hazard has played 26% of Madrid’s La Liga minutes this term.
