Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed the idea that the club is on a big high after their dramatic victory against PSG on Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s tie with Real Mallorca on Monday night, the Italian was keen to ensure that Los Blancos did not lose their focus in the league.
“There is no euphoria at the club, nor in the team. We continue on in the Champions League and tomorrow we have a different competition. This team is used to looking ahead, it’s in the history of our club. We won one match, but it was only the round of 16.”
SPORT carried the quotes from the press conference, where Ancelotti has begun to address the prospect of winning trophies this season.
“We didn’t have a good time in January, but we’ve kept going and now we can win something this season.”
Real Madrid hold an eight point lead at the top of the table, which could be decisive with just ten matches remaining after this weekend.
