Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig linked with Premier League move

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Riqui Puig from Barcelona according to a report by Diario Sport. The Premier League club has always been interested in Barcelona players and they see Puig as being a unique market opportunity.

The Catalan youngster has hardly featured under Xavi Hernandez so far this season and is beginning to realise that he needs to leave Camp Nou in order to progress his career. Wolves are an interesting option as Barcelona could do a deal that could enable them to retain Adama Traore without spending a single euro.

Barcelona have a purchase option on Adama, who’s on loan at Camp Nou from Wolves. Francisco Trincao is also currently on loan at Wolves from Barcelona. So between the two, Trincao and Puig, there’s scope for Barcelona to do a creative deal.

But that depends on Puig being willing to leave for pastures new, something he’s repeatedly refused despite playing hardly any football over these past few seasons. The 22-year-old, born and raised in Catalonia, has spent his entire career at Barcelona.
