Valencia and Athletic Club confirm starting lineups for Copa del Rey semi-final second leg

Valencia and Athletic Club have locked in their lineups for tonight’s crunch Copa del Rey clash.

Los Ché and the Lions go head-to-head this evening at Mestalla for a place in this season’s final.

The two sides drew 1-1 in their first leg, leaving the tie wide open heading into the second.

Athletic Club have lost the last two finals in this competition, and they haven’t won it since 1984, while Valencia last won it in 2019.

This is a huge occasion for both teams, and both will believe they can go all the way, with one of Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano to play in the final.

Ahead of the semi-final second leg, both sides have confirmed their teams..

Valencia will go with Goncalo Guedes and Hugo Duro up top, while Ilaix Moriba starts at centre-midfield.

Jose Bordalas has shifted to a back three between Gabriel Paulista, Mouctar Diakhaby and Omar Alderete. Dimitri Folquier and Jose Luis Gaya will start in the wing-back roles.

Athletic Club are more or less as expected, perhaps with the exception of Yuri Berchiche at left-back and Mikel in centre-midfield. Inaki Williams and Raul Garcia lead the front line.
