Carlo Ancelotti

David Alaba trains normally and should be available for Real Madrid against Paris Saint-Germain

Carlo Ancelotti can breath a little easier today after David Alaba trained at the same pace and intensity as his teammates in the second session of the week according to Diario AS.

The Austrian centre-back suffered a micro-tear last week that ruled him out of Real Madrid’s La Liga trip to Rayo Vallecano, a game Los Blancos won 1-0. He feels recovered and is set to be available for next week’s titanic clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 second leg in the Spanish capital.

But he’s not going to be risked this weekend when Madrid take on Champions League-chasing Real Sociedad. Ancelotti’s priority is ensuring Alaba is as fit as possible ahead of meeting PSG.

Alaba joined Madrid in the summer on a free transfer from Bayern Munich and has proven himself to be a real world-class performer. He’s made 34 appearances for Madrid so far, providing two goals and four assists, forming a fine partnership with Eder Militao.
