Barcelona are already hard at work preparing their movement in the summer transfer window according to Mundo Deportivo. Their defence is understood to be an absolute priority and the Blaugrana are keen to utilise the free agent market as well as they possible can. In fact, they could recruit a whole backline.
Noussair Mazraoui of Ajax is the chosen right-back. His contract expires at the end of the season and he’s just 24 years of age. He’s capable technically and tactically and has already experienced elite competition. Mino Raiola is his representative.
Regarding the centre-backs, two current Chelsea players are in Barcelona’s sights; 32-year-old Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta and 25-year-old Dane Andreas Christensen. Both their contracts expire at the season’s end and both are attracted by Barcelona.
Valencia captain Jose Gaya is the chosen left-back and he’s the only one of the four players in this report who won’t be a free agent come the end of the season. His contract runs until the summer of 2023 but it’s though Valencia won’t lose him on a free.
