Sergio Ramos’ latest injury setback has proven Real Madrid right

Sergio Ramos is back on the sidelines for Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Real Madrid defender has struggled with injury throughout this season, perhaps proving Los Blancos right in revoking their contract offer over the summer.

In fact, he did not make his PSG debut until last week, and that is the only appearance he has for his new club to date.

And he will now return to the sidelines to miss PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Lens on Saturday.

Ramos has ‘muscular fatigue’ according to head coach Mauricio Pochettino, and will sit the game out.

The issue is understandable given the recent return from injury and the fact Ramos played 90 minutes last weekend.

But ultimately, it is another reminder for Real Madrid that they made the right decision in allowing their legendary defender to depart before replacing him with a younger and – at this moment in time – more capable David Alaba.

Alaba has impressed at the Santiago Bernabeu so far and has been key to Real Madrid’s impressive start to the campaign.
