Carlo Ancelotti is faced with a big dilemma ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Real Sociedad this weekend.
There has been plenty of talk of tiredness around the Santiago Bernabeu of late.
But the problem facing Ancelotti this weekend is about discipline, with key holding midfielder Casemiro on four yellow cards.
One more yellow card will mean the Brazilian is suspended for one game, and should he get a yellow card this weekend, he will miss El Derbi with Atletico Madrid.
The problem is that Real Sociedad are a very tricky team, and resting Casemiro may be a risk, especially given Real Madrid’s struggles in their win over Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Not only that, but the man who would replace Casemiro, Eduardo Camavinga, is also on four yellow cards.
And so either way, Ancelotti could find himself without a holding midfielder for the clash with Atleti.
And on Wednesday, Camavinga played an important role in closing out the game after coming on late in the game.
It’s a tricky scenario for Ancelotti, who will be hoping Casemiro or Camavinga – whoever gets the nod – can behave themselves enough to make the all-important clash with Atletico.
