Ronald Araujo celebrates disallowed goal and suffers injury in matter of seconds

Barcelona star Ronald Araujo went from Euphoria to disappointment in a split second on Tuesday night.

Araujo started Barca‘s clash with Benfica on Tuesday night, a game Xavi Hernandez‘s men likely needed to win.

Barca couldn’t find a way through at Camp Nou, however, and they now go into their final game with Bayern Munich likely needing to win.

Both sides had chances, and both sides had the ball in the net at some point, but both were chalked off.

In Barca’s case, it was Araujo who found the net, turning home a cross with a fine volleyed finish.

The centre-back sprinted towards the corner flag and slid on his knees, celebrating the goal.

But he then turned to see the offside flag, and in a double blow, he realised he had suffered a calf injury and was forced off.

Araujo only recently returned from an injury, but he once again found himself in the treatment room, forced off in the 86th minute.

The extent of the injury has not been confirmed just yet, but Barca should provide a medical report in due course.
