Manchester City come from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1

Paris Saint-Germain travelled to England this evening to take on Manchester City in the Champions League, only to be beaten 2-1. The result means that City go into the final matchday of the group phase top of Group A, four points clear of second-placed PSG. Although both have qualified for the last 16 of the competition due to Leipzig’s 5-0 victory over Club Brugge.

PSG are top of Ligue 1 having accumulated 37 points from 14 games. They’re eleven clear of the nearest challenger, Nice. City are second in the Premier League having won 26 points from their first 12 games. They’re three behind pace-setters Chelsea.

City dominated the first half, enjoying the better of the chances. It was PSG, however, who struck first blood at the beginning of the second half. Lionel Messi picked up the ball from deep, enjoying fine interplay with Neymar before threading a deflected ball through to Kylian Mbappe, who finished with precision. City hit back twice in the final half-hour, however, to secure a comeback victory. Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus scored.
