Radamel Falcao could be set for a new contract with Rayo Vallecano.
Falcao has been a sensation since joining the Vallecas side following the summer transfer window.
The 35-year-old was a surprise signing for newly-promoted Rayo, cancelling his contract with Galatasaray just in time to finalise his one-year deal with Los Franjirrojos shortly after the deadline.
Since then, Falcao has gone on to show he still has it with five goals in eight games, amassing one of the best strike rates in La Liga.
Falcao has scored a goal every 67 minutes on average, and he has helped Rayo to a superb start.
As things stand, Andoni Iraola‘s man are in sixth place, already with 20 points from just 13 games, closer to top spot than the bottom three.
And given Falcao’s contribution, it is no surprise that the Vallecas club are looking to wrap up a new deal for the veteran.
According to Diario AS, Falcao is set to sign a one-year extension to take him until the end of the 2022/23 season.
That will be music to the years of not just Rayo fans but La Liga fans in general.
El Tigre, as he is known, has been a sensation this season, adding to the reputation he built during his unstoppable years at Atletico Madrid when he scored 52 goals in 68 league outings.
