Barcelona’s dressing room tired of Philippe Coutinho after incident at Celta Vigo

Barcelona’s dressing room are beginning to become tired of Philippe Coutinho according to a report in Diario Sport. The Brazilian hasn’t shown anything near to his potential since arriving at Camp Nou for big money from Liverpool in the winter of 2018, but is still the highest-paid player at the club.

Some players at Barcelona are beginning to become tired of Coutinho’s attitude during training and matches, with tensions boiling over especially following an incident during Barcelona’s 3-3 draw at Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.

He was asked to warm up by Sergi Barjuan after Ansu Fati picked up an injury, but took ages to take off his coat and, when he did warm up, did so without a great deal of enthusiasm. “There’s no need [to make the change],” Coutinho is reported to have said. “The half-time break is coming.” Barjuan responded by bringing on Alejandro Balde to replace Fati instead of Coutinho.

At the end of the game, a senior figure in Barcelona’s dressing room rebuked Coutinho in for his attitude and his words, and this isn’t the first time such a wake-up call has been issued to him by his colleagues at Camp Nou. His doesn’t seem to be a case incoming coach Xavi will be able to salvage.
