PSG deny talk of Sergio Ramos release amid defender’s injury problems

Paris Saint-Germain have denied talk they are considering releasing Sergio Ramos.

Ramos is yet to play for his new club despite signing back in the summer on a free transfer from Real Madrid.

The Spain international missed more than 30 games through injury with Real Madrid last season, and his absences played a big role in Los Blancos’ decision to move on from their legendary defender.

It didn’t take him long to find a club, PSG taking a chance on him, but it has been a frustrating time since.

Now more than three months into the season, Ramos is still yet to play due to injury, and that has led to French reports claiming the his contract could be rescinded.

The report came from Le Parisien, who suggested PSG could seek an agreement with Ramos to end his time early amid his lack of action.

But PSG chief Leonardo is having none of it, claiming everything is as expected.

“We know Ramos has had an injury,” the PSG director said over the weekend.

“The Spanish press are playing games, we all knew he had a problem. We know what’s happening here.”
