Vinicius outshining Neymar in Europe this season but not with the Brazilian national team

Vinicius’ explosion has contrasted with Neymar’s decline this season. The former, 21 and finally hitting his stride with Real Madrid, is enjoying life a lot more than the latter, who at 30 is enduring a tough start to the season with Paris Saint-Germain.

Vinicius has played 12 games so far this season according to Diario AS, attaining 920 minutes, seven goals, three assists and three yellow cards. Five of his goals have come in La Liga, while the other two came in the Champions League.

Neymar has played eight games so far this season, managing 675 minutes, providing one goal and two assists. Once again, the Brazilian has struggled with consistency and injuries. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi have carried the can for PSG.

Despite this, Vinicius hasn’t played much football for the Brazilian national team under Tite. He earned 27 minutes against Venezuela but didn’t make it on to the pitch against Colombia or Uruguay. Neymar was rested against Venezuela but scored and provided two assists against Colombia and Uruguay.
