Barcelona will take their time over reintroducing Pedro amid a recent setback for the midfielder.
Much was made of Pedri’s participation for club and country last season, the midfielder playing in more games than any other player in Europe.
Many claimed the 18-year-old had played too much, following up a long club season with Euro 2020 and then the Olympics.
And perhaps the proof is in the pudding, with Pedri now struggling from a quad injury.
The youngster had been working towards a return in the last week or so, but during training over the weekend, he suffered a setback in his recovery.
Tests were done on Monday to see the damage of the setback, and according to Sport, it was revealed that the scarring in Pedri’s quad from his injury had not healed as hoped.
He will now take backward steps in his recovery and Barcelona will not take any risks over his return, preferring to take things slowly to get it right this time around.
