Eden Hazard started Belgium’s Nations League semi final against France last night as captain, and played 75 minutes.
That’s about when you’d expect him to come off anyway, but the way he came off the pitch worried some Real Madrid fans, and it was enough for Marca to run a piece about it.
They noted that after jumping for the ball, Hazard stopped running, broke off from the play and started walking towards the touchline, pulling off his captain’s armband.
After the game, Roberto Martinez confirmed there was some kind of issue with the winger, although he couldn’t give more details about exactly what was wrong.
Real Madrid have been counting on having the star fit at last after a really troubled couple of years trying to fit in in Spain. For the sake of the league, it is hoped this isn’t serious, and that Hazard is back playing for his club next weekend.
