The first third of the season saw the Blaugrana flounder outside the top four of the division but a resurgence in form in recent months has seen them qualify for the Copa del Rey final after a dramatic turnaround and they are the most in-form side in La Liga.
Experienced defender Jordi Alba has now sung the praises of the Dutchman and insists that not only is he a “club legend” but that he is doing a fine job in the hotseat, and is popular with the players.
In quotes carried by Marca, the left-back has said: “I have always had the support of the coach, he is a club legend, a coach who always goes face to face with all the players, and that is the most important thing for me.
“His work is very good and the players are responding well to everything. That is what he is asking of us. It’s not my decision, but it’s clear he is doing a great job for the club and for all of us.”
