Villarreal striker Karl Toko Ekambi has joined Ligue 1 side Lyon.
The 27-year old Cameroonian international has been linked with a move away from El Madrigal during the January transfer window, and the French side have now officially confirmed the €18.5M deal.
Ekambi has not joined in time to be included in the squad to face Ligue 1 rivals Lille tonight, however he confirmed he would be in the stands at Parc OL to watch his new team mates in action.
Club president Jean-Michel Aulas welcomed the new arrival to the club, but he also confirmed he has no intention of sanctions the sales of key pair Lucas Tousart and Moussa Dembele in the coming days.
Ekambi joined Villarreal in a €7M deal after catching the eye with Ligue 1 side Angers, however despite showing promise with the Yellow Submarine last season, his has slipped down the pecking order under Calleja.
Villarreal are expected to sign a replacement before the transfer window closes, although there are no indications as to who they will target.
