Carles Perez: Ansu Fati and I are examples to La Masia graduates

Barcelona forward Carles Perez has claimed that he and fellow La Masia graduate Ansu Fati can be an example to the club's next generation.

The Spanish U21 international pair both scored, as Ernesto Valverde's sdie secured a 2-1 Champions League win at Inter Milan in the final group game of the season.

Despite the game bearing limited significance for the team, as they had already assured their place in the last 16 stage, first Champions League goal for both players meant it was a historic night in Milan.

"I am so happy to make my Champions League debut, and to play and score here at a legendary ground is a dream," Perez told a post-game interview with Marca.

"The whole team congratulated for the goal, and for my performance

"I believe that we (Fati and I) are an example to the young players at La Masia, in that they can achieve this if they believe in themselves."

"Barcelona have always trusted in La Masia, and I hope they trust in me."

Perez has played a bit part role so far this season, with five La Liga starts so far in 2019-20, however he added that he was hopeful of more first team chances in the coming weeks.

Ernesto Valverde opted to rest some of his big names for the trip to Italy, and could make further changes in the coming weeks, due to injuries, and both Fati and Perez should be included in more match days squads.
