Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet set for Champions League return

Barcelona centre back Clement Lenglet is in line to return to the squad for their midweek Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The former Sevilla defender suffered a knee injury on international duty with France, and manager Ernesto Valverde opted to leave him out of the La Liga weekend squad to travel to Leganes.

However, according to reports in Marca, his omission was based on a precautionary measure by Valverde, with Barcelona struggling for defensive cover at the moment.

Full back pair Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba are both out for another three weeks through injury, with centre back Samuel Umtiti only just returning from a long injury lay off.

Sergi Roberto will return to the squad after serving a domestic suspension against Javier Aguirre's side, but Gerard Pique will miss the trip to Germany due to his own ban.

Barcelona are currently top of Group F, after an unbeaten start to their European campaign, and a win against the Bundesliga side will seal their progress to the knockout stage.
