Real Madrid stars impress on international duty

Real Madrid's international stars have enjoyed a successful international break – with Belgium, Croatia and Germany all securing Euro 2020 qualification.

Eden Hazard and Toni Kroos both scored as Belgium and Germany beat Russia and Belarus by 4-1 and 4-0 scorelines respectively, as they sealed a place in next summer's tournament.

Luka Modric captained Croatia to a 3-1 comeback win at home to Slovakia, as Zlatko Dalic's side fought back in Rijeka, to book their place in the competition.

Gareth Bale played 60 minutes for Wales in their 2-0 win away in Azerbaijan, as they took a huge step towards a place in successive European Championships for the first time in their history.

Bale has not played for Real Madrid since October 6 due to injury, however after being passed fit to play last week he joined up with Ryan Giggs squad in Baku.

The former Tottenham man has remained with the squad for their return to Wales, and they face Hungary in Cardiff on Tuesday night, where a win will put them into Euro 2020 automatically.
