Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko has returned to light training with the club after nine months out with a knee injury.
The full-back was enjoying a season-long loan deal at Inter last season but suffered the injury early this year and returned to Los Rojiblancos to begin the recovery process.
The Croatian international joined the Nerazzuri from Atleti on a €6.5m loan for the season with a €17.5m option to but he was limited to just 13 appearances last season due to injury.
He may indeed have a future role in Diego Simeone’s side due to a series of defensive departures this summer including full-backs Juanfran Torres and Filipe Luis, with Diego Godin and Lucas Hernandez also departing.
However, it is reported by Marca that a loan exit in January may be more of an option due to the form of summer arrival Kieran Trippier and back-up Santiago Arias in the position.
