Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has labelled goal keeper Jan Oblak as the world's best following his display in the 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.
The Slovenian international kept his ninth clean sheet from 13 games in all competitions so far this season, in the win over Gaizka Garitano's side at the Wanda Metropolitano.
He has consistently been recognised as La Liga's best keeper, with four successive La Liga Best Goalkeeper and Zamora Trophy awards from 2014 to 2018, but his manager is confident there is no better keeper in world football.
"Oblak is the best goal keeper in the world, no doubt about it.
"He continues to improve and evolve every year, and he helps the team to shine.
"He shows that he is the best with his performances every day in training and then in games for the team.
"And I am sure he will be recognised with the new goal keeper award from FIFA."
The world's footballing governing body introduced a special award for the best goal keeper in 2017, with Gianluigi Buffon, Thibaut Courtois and Alisson winning it so far.
