Real Madrid rest Dani Carvajal for Mallorca trip

Real Madrid have decided to rest Dani Carvajal for their trip to Real Mallorca this weekend ahead of their midweek Champions League clash.

The Spain international has impressed on international duty but – despite not carrying an injury – has not been included in Madrid’s weekend trip to Palma.

Zinedine Zidane’s team face a crucial trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night and Carvajal has been rested for that game, with Alvaro Odriozola instead set to start in the right-back position at San Moix.

Meanwhile, as outlined by Marca, Brahim Diaz is back in the Madrid squad for the Mallorca clash since the first day of the season – a victory at Celta Vigo.

Brahim is among a plethora of attacking talents including in the latest squad alongside Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

Madrid currently top La Liga with 18 points from their first eight matches, and they are currently unbeaten.
