Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez wanted by Arsenal

Arsenal are one of three clubs who want to sign Real Madrid utility player Lucas Vazquez in January, according to El Desmarque.

The 28-year-old has spent the entirety of his professional career at Los Blancos – excluding the 2014/15 campaign when he represented Espanyol – and is viewed as a loyal servant at the club.

The fresh report claims the Gunners are keen on his signature this January, with Italian side Roma and Bayer Leverkusen also holding an interest in the Spain international.

Galician native Vazquez is said to be one of the players who can leave the Santiago Bernabéu in the coming year in order to generate funds for reinvestment elsewhere in Zinedine Zidane’s squad.

Vazquez has started just three of Madrid’s eight La Liga games to date this campaign and whilst he is not surplus to requirements, he is not irreplaceable in the squad.

Vazquez is said to be valued in the region of €20m by Los Blancos.
