Villarreal have confirmed that the club’s all-time record goal scorer Giuseppe Rossi will begin training with the club from Tuesday.
A statement on Villarreal’s official website confirms Rossi – who is currently a free agent – will join up with their first team squad from tomorrow morning.
The club confirmed the news via a statement on their website on Monday, while Rossi has also had loan stints in Spain with both Levante and Celta Vigo.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Genoa last year and trained with another of his old teams, Manchester United, in January.
Rossi played with the Yellow Submarine between 2007 and 2013, becoming their top scorer with 82 goals of which 32 came during the 2010-11 campaign.
54 of the former Italy international striker’s goals arrived in La Liga, with seven in the Copa del Rey, five in the Champions League and a further 16 in the Europa League.
