Luka Jovic omitted from Serbia squad

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has been left out of the Serbia squad for their upcoming EURO 2020 qualifier.

The 21-year forward has failed to make Ljubisa Tumbakovic's squad for the first time since his breakthrough campaign on loan with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

However after starting just two La Liga games for Zinedine Zidane's side following his summer move from Benfica, he has been omitted for the crucial qualifier away in Lithuania, and a friendly game with Paraguay.

Jovic has netted two goals in his last four games for his national side, but Tumbakovic confirmed that his lack of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu was the reason for not calling him up.

In Jovic's absence, La Liga do have three players in the squad for the double header, with Eibar goal keeper Marko Dmitrovic, Getafe's Nemanja Maksimovic and Sevilla's Nemanja Gudelj all included.
