Eden Hazard will thrive in Madrid derby – Zidane

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane trusts summer signing Eden Hazard will make the difference in the Madrid derby against Atletico.

The Belgian international arrived from Chelsea this summer in a €100m deal but, after suffering early injury problems, has yet to find the net for his new club.

Hazard is likely to start for Los Blancos in an attacking front three which will also include the in-form Karim Benzema along with Gareth Bale.

“We know what level of player he is, that is why the club signed him,” Zidane said at his Friday press conference when asked about Hazard, as cited by Marca.

“He can show this quality at any point and he did so against Sevilla, but we fully expect he will continue to display this for us and make the difference.

“Of course, everyone expects a very high level and he is aware of that. We fully support and trust in him and he is with us.

“We just have to take it game by game because he is going to be the player we want with us, we have full confidence.

“He is the sort of player who will thrive in this type of game, just like all the players that we have here – they prepare for these matches.

“We are totally focused on the match and we know it will be very complicated, but that is what motivates us.”
