PSG’s Pablo Sarabia earns first Spain call-up

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Pablo Sarabia has been called up to the Spain national squad for the first time in his career.

Sarabia joined the French champions in a €20m deal from Sevilla this summer after netting 43 goals across three seasons at the Andalusian club.

The central midfielder began his career at Real Madrid before spending five campaigns at Getafe, ahead of his 2016 move to Los Rojiblancos.

There is also a first-time call up for Athletic Club Bilbao defender Unai Nunez, who has previously starred with the Under-21 side until this year.

Spain are set to play Romania in Bucharest on 5 September before playing against the Faroe Islands on 8 September 8 in Gijon.

Iago Aspas and Santi Cazorla are both left out from the previous squad list, while Thiago Alcantara and Paco Alcácer, who are performing in the Bundesliga in this season start, return to the squad alongside Milan’s Suso.

Goalkeepers: Kepa, De Gea, Pau López.

Defenders: Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Jordi Alba, Mario Hermoso, Gayá, Unai Núñez, Diego Llorente.

Midfielders: Jesús Navas, Busquets, Parejo, Rodri, Thiago, Saúl, Fabián, Suso, Ceballos.

Forwards: Rodrigo, Sarabia, Alcácer and Oyarzabal.
