Real Madrid hopeful on Eden Hazard for Villarreal game

Real Madrid are hopeful that Eden Hazard will make his first-team debut for their trip to Villarreal this weekend, say Marca.

The Belgian international broke the club's transfer record this summer, with a €100m move from Premier League side Chelsea and he impressed in pre-season for Zinedine Zidane's side.

However, he sustained a leg muscular injury in the pre-season trip to Montreal which ruled him out of the opening weeks of the campaign.

The Belgian star was unavailable for the opening day win at Celta Vigo and draw against Real Valladolid on Saturday, with Madrid desperate for him to be available for selection as soon as possible.

“My feelings are positive with Eden because he always wants to play,” Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, whose side play San Marino and Scotland next month, told Nieuwsblad.

“Also, generally, he recovers quickly and well. If he plays at Villareal we could count on him.”

Los Blancos made over €300m in summer signings this year but none have played any significant role in the opening weeks of the campaign, with Hazard the only arrival expected to be an immediate first-team star.
