Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola out of Real Valladolid clash

Real Madrid will be without defensive pair Alvaro Odriozola and Ferland Mendy for the visit of Real Valladolid later today.

Mendy has not featured for Los Blancos following a knee injury he suffered during pre-season, whilst Spanish international Odriozola has been omitted from the squad following the return of Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal missed the opening day 4-1 win at Celta Vigo after a one-game suspension was carried over from last season, and he is expected to come straight into the starting XI.

Gareth Bale is expected to keep his starting place, with Colombian international James Rodriguez pushing for a first Real Madrid appearance since 2017.
