Giovani Lo Celso to Tottenham on loan deal

Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has joined Tottenham on a season-long loan arrangement in a deal with various payments.

Marca say the loan is worth a base minimum of €16m with a further €4m on instalments in the initial fee, while Spurs can then buy 80% of the player’s rights at the end of the campaign for €41m.

That large sum of money will be compulsory should Spurs qualify for the Champions League next season and voluntarily if not, while the remaining 20% will be paid in instalments by the North London club and ‘depending on different objectives’.

The potential final amount of the entire transfer stands at €70m and if that full amount is not met, then Betis still hold a percentage of the player’s rights and valuation.

Paris Saint-Germain will receive 20% of any permanent sale for the Argentine midfielder, who joined Betis on a permanent basis in April in a €22m deal following a successful loan spell.

Betis are now said to be close to concluding deals for Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias and Rayo Vallecano full-back Alex Moreno.
