Leicester City are the front runners to sign Getafe defender Dakonam Djene, ahead of their Premier League rivals.
According to reports in Marca this weekend, Brendan Rodgers' side have stole ahead of Arsenal and Everton, who have both been linked with a move for the Togolese international.
Djene was a key figure for Jose Bordalas' side as they secured Europa League qualification in 2018-19, with the club confirming they have already received bids from interested parties for the former Alcorcon centre back.
Bordalas has confirmed that the club would not accept anything lower than Djene's release clause of €35m, and the Foxes are expected to activate the deal once Harry Maguire's move to Manchester United is completed.
Rodgers is expected to receive around €75m for the England international, and he will be keen to invest in an experienced replacement, with the Premier League transfer window set to close on August 7.
