FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic will not be used in a deal to bring Neymar back to the club.
Reports in Spain have claimed that the Croatian international could be used as a makeweight as the Catalan side look to launch an audacious bid to bring the Brazilian international back to the Camp Nou.
However, according to French newspaper L'Equipe have dismissed those claims, stating that Paris Saint-Germain are only interested in a cash only transfer, with the objective being to recoup the majority of the world record €222m they paid for him in 2017.
The report also adds that the French side are not interested in a player-plus-cash deal with Philippe Coutinho in place of Rakitic, with a minimum bid of €200m needed for Thomas Tuchel's side to continue selling the 27-year old.
Rakitic has two years remaining on his deal with Ernesto Valverde, and he has asked the club to negotiate an extension, however nothing has been agreed.
