Mauricio Pochettino unaware of Tottenham bid for Gareth Bale

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has refused to confirm whether the club are interested in buying Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that the Spanish giants are working on a deal to sell the Welsh international ahead of the 2019-20, following a major squad overhaul at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite claiming he wants to remain at the club, Bale will not be short of offers, with his former side reported to be considering bringing him back to the Premier League.

However, Pochettino was coy on the speculation surrounding the 30-year old, when asked following Spurs' 3-2 pre season win over Juventus.

"I have seen media reports about Bale, but I don't now which club is trying to sign him, he told Diario AS.

"I don't have any information from my chairman.

"I don't know if it us that has made an offer, or another club.

"That is a job of the chairman."

Bale left Tottenham for a then world-record 86m fee in  2013, and he has gone on to win four Champions League titles and one La Liga winners medal, all during Zidane's first spell in charge of the club.

If Tottenham do want to bring Bale back to the club, chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to make a straight cash offer, with the potential over a player-plus-cash deal involving Real Madrid target Christian Eriksen a possibility in the coming weeks.
