FC Barcelona remain interested in Jerome Roussillon

FC Barcelona are considering a bid for Wolfsburg left back Jerome Roussillon.

According to reports in Catalan newspaper Diario Sport, the defending La Liga champions are prepared to raid the Bundesliga side to bring 26-year old to the Camp Nou.

The report also states they are also interested in Augsburg defender Philipp Max, as an alternative, however reports in Germany claim he wants to stay in the Bundesliga.

Ernesto Valverde's side were linked with a move for the former French U20 international in June, with other major sides from across Europe also reported to be keeping an eye on the situation over the summer.

However, La Blaugrana now look set to push ahead with a bid of €25m in the coming weeks, after their interest in Real Betis defender Junior Firpo cooled after they were quoted €45m for the Spanish U21 international.

Valverde has highlighted left back as an important area to strengthened over the summer, with no senior cover for Jordi Alba, and Roussillon fits the bill perfectly.

Roussilon caught the eye following seven seasons in Ligue 1, with Sochaux and Montpellier, before moving to Germany at the start of the 2018-19 campaign, making 31 appearances last season.
