Sevilla are looking to further strengthen their squad this summer as they turn to PSV winger Steven Bergwijn, according to reports in Spain.
Marca cite a report from De Telegraaf that the club’s sporting director Monchi will return to Eindhoven having already landed striker Luuk de Jong from the club.
Bergwijn, 21, has a contract until 2022 and has a reported market value of €35m – meaning that he could potentially become the Andalusian club’s record transfer.
Sevilla have already made nine summer signings, spending over €120m on Moanes Dabour, Diego Carlos, Joan Jordan, Jules Kounde, Fernando, Luuk de Jong, Lucas Ocampos, Oliver Torres and Sergio Reguilon.
The report claim Dutch international Bergwijn could act as a replacement for Pablo Sarabia, who left Los Rojiblancos to join Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth €20m this summer.
Bergwijn played 41 games last season, 23 as left winger and 18 on the right flank. He netted 15 goals and provided 13 assists.
He scored the third goal as PSV beat rivals Ajax 3–0 to clinch the 2017–18 Eredivisie title and has won six caps for the Netherlands.
