Atletico Madrid to sell Nikola Kalinic, Angel Correa

Atletico Madrid are actively trying to sell Nikola Kalinic and Angel Correa this summer to recuperate funds, report Marca.

Argentine Correa has become a crucial part of Atleti’s attack since joining from San Lorenzo in 2015, making 178 appearances under Diego Simeone.

However, despite being under a long-term deal at the club until 2024 he is an increasingly peripheral figure in the squad and with just 30 goals over four years, now looks set to be moved on.

Kalinic only joined Atleti from Milan in a €15m deal last summer but has started just seven La Liga games, netting twice.

It has been a second season of frustration for the 31-year-old after an underwhelming stint at the Rossoneri, who signed him for €29m in 2017 from Fiorentina.

Kalinic scored 27 times across two seasons with La Viola but his career has stagnated since with a lack of regular first-team football.

He was even linked with moves away this January with Monaco, Real Betis and Sevilla among the clubs linked to his signature, but a transfer never materialised.

Kalinic, previous of Hajduk Split, Blackburn Rovers and Dnipro, was also sent home from Croatia’s World Cup last squad after refusing to appear as a substitute.

The two are set to further increase the outgoings at Los Rojiblancos this summer with Antoine Griezmann, Diego Godin, Lucas Hernandez, Rodri and Juanfran Torres all departed.
