Roma have completed the signing of Real Betis goalkeeper Pau Lopez in a deal which has a total value of €30m.
The Spain international goalkeeper has penned a five-year contract in the Italian capital in a deal worth an initial lump sum of €24m.
The fee for the transfer will see Los Verdiblancos also be given the remaining 50% rights of striker Antonio Sanabria – currently on loan at Genoa, which will boost the ‘real value’ of the deal above €30m.
Betis are said to look to reinvest the money received for the goalkeeper to sign Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias and Rayo Vallecano full-back Alex Moreno, the report adds.
The 24-year-old made 35 first-team appearances for Los Verdiblancos last season having joined on a free transfer from Espanyol last summer.
Lopez has emerged as one of the best goalkeepers in Spain’s top-flight and indeed is third choice at international level behind England-based Kepa Arrizabalaga and David De Gea.
Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Canales and Junior Firpo are other Betis stars whose future is unclear.
