No FC Barcelona bid for Lautaro Martinez

Inter Milan director of football Javier Zanetti has confirmed the club has not received a bid from FC Barcelona for Lautaro Martinez.

The La Liga champions have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international – currently away on international duty at the 2019 Copa America – however the Milanese legend stated there had been no contact.

"We have not received a bid from Barcelona for Lautaro Martinez, he told TyC Sports.

"He is a very important player for us, and I hope that he stays here for a long time.

"We are really happy with his first season here, and it is not easy for a 21-year old to show that level."

However, Ernesto Valverde is expected to keep an eye on the situation, as he looks to retain a back up option, should deals for Antoine Griezmann and Neymar fail to materialise.

Martinez's agent Alberto Yaque declined to comment on the speculation, amid further reports that the Argentinian international wanted reassurances about his first team role for 2019-20, before deciding on his future.
