Real Madrid are poised to complete the signing of highly-rated attacking midfielder Alberto Soro from Real Zaragoza, claim Diario AS.
The 20-year-old is said to be the jewel of Zaragoza’s side and he has starred for the first team this season with 30 appearances across La Liga 123 and the Copa del Rey.
The report claims the deal would be similar to the one which took central defender Jesus Vallejo from La Romareda to Los Blancos in the summer of 2015.
It is expected that any deal would see Soro remain ‘on loan’ at Zaragoza for the coming campaign and the player is said to be excited about the possibility of a move.
The former Spain Under-18 international has a €9m release clause at Zaragoza but it is said that Zaragoza’s valuation stands at €3m, while Madrid so far have offered just €2.5m.
The two clubs are set to hold a meeting this week in which a transfer should be done with the idea to integrate the player into Madrid’s Castilla team.
Soro penned a long-term renewal at the second-tier club last October until the summer of 2022 while Espanyol and Barcelona have previously been linked to the player.
