Real Betis sign Real Sociedad striker Juanmi

Real Betis have completed the signing of Real Sociedad Juanmi Jimenez on a five-year contract, it has been confirmed.

The 26-year-old has been a fixture in top level football since making his debut as a teenager for Malaga in La Liga in the 2009/10 season.

Juanmi has won one senior international cap with Spain, in 2015, having previously represented the national side at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.

Marca journalist Alfonso Rivero reports that Betis will pay €8m upfront for the striker alongside a further €2m in variables.

In total, Juanmi has played 254 in top-level football, scoring 52 goals and providing 15 assists – with unsuccessful stints at Racing Santander and Southampton between his spells at Malaga and La Real.

Juanmi joins Loren Moron in the Betis attacking ranks and the club are likely to add at least one more attacking signing this summer after Sergio Leon joined Levante.

The striker is the first signing of the summer by Los Verdiblancos following the appointment of Coach Rubi, formerly of Espanyol, last week.
