Real Madrid have officially signed Olympique Lyonnais defender Ferland Mendy for €48m plus up to €5m in performance-related bonuses.
The announcement had been in the air and was confirmed with dual statements this evening.
The 24-year-old left-back has two senior caps for France under his belt.
He came up through the youth academy at Le Havre, moving to Lyon for €5m in the summer of 2017.
Mendy’s price-tag and profile sky-rocketed after his fine performances this season, with three goals and three assists in 44 competitive matches.
He has signed a contract to June 2025.
