FC Barcelona forward Luis Suarez is delighted to be fit to play in time for Uruguay's 2019 Copa America campaign.
Suarez withdrew from the last three games of his club season to undergo surgery, with the aim of being fit in time to make Oscar Tabarez's 23-man squad for the tournament.
His rehabilitation has gone according to plan, and the 32-year old netted in Uruguay's 3-0 warm up friendly win over Panama, and he is hoping to make an impact in Brazil.
"I felt good after the game and I am very happy with the progress I have made.
"I knew that if I worked hard, I would be fit to play and there is still time to work on my fitness before the tournament starts.
"Physically, I feel ready to go."
Uruguay face Indonesia in their final pre-tournament friendly on June 12, before starting the tournament against Ecuador, before other group games against Japan and Chile.
